In autumn 2001 Toos van Holstein settled down in the mediaeval city of Middelburg.
Together with her partner she has obtained a large building right in the old centre of this county- The building is an old granary, that has been used as such for centuries. It is situated in the center of the old town, on the beautiful Korendijk (meaning the corn dike). Toos choose the place because of the extraordinary light and the unique situation. (In the USA Middelburg is known as the place where the ancestors of both presidents Roosevelt originate from.) Click here for another picture of Toos' painting studio. |
